Of course, that ASI is probably better spent on a Dexterity bonus or something that would serve the class better.
For example, if I want a drow rogue that has the Alert feat, I have to wait until that drow hits level 4 in order to do that. However, they don’t make room for a whole lot of variety or special abilities. The races in the Fifth Edition do a pretty good job of bringing balance and flavor to the game.
